15-10 Alternating

A poem where 15 syllable stanzas which begin with an anapest foot and having couplet rhyme

alternate with 10 syllable iambic stanzas with cross rhyme.

Rhyme Pattern: aabb cdcd

I first saw this used by Jeff Green but have no ideas if is already a name form/

Constitutional Deficiency

A democracy cannot endure when gimme people learn

that they can persuade their reps to confiscate what others earn.

This was first proclaimed by Tytler, then Alexis de Tocqueville

The right to direct one's earnings is in fact what makes one free.

My liberal friends think as I once did,

that government should cure whatever's wrong.

I recognized my error as a kid.

Someone must pay the piper for his song.

We've had only one elected man at top who truly tried

to impede the juggernaught we've wrought but could not hold the tide.

To defend our nation, use its strength to minimize abuse

are enough, but power wants more growth and leaps to find excuse.

The Tytle Cycle must run its full course.

Our try died not from faulty prior design.

We'll work for masters like the noble horse.

The blame my friends is really yours and mine.

5/3 Meter

A poem consisting of an odd number of quatrains

I have no idea if this form has been otherwise named, if you know please advise.

Alternating lines of 5 and 3 syllables, where

the odd lines consist of  an IAMB and an ANAPEST

da-DUM da-DUM-da

and the even lines consist of a DACTYL 

DUM-da-DUM

Each stanza uses individual rhyme pattern -abab

where the b-rhymes are always feminine

The first stanza is repeated as the final stanza.

7/5 Trochee

The 7/5 Trochee, created by Andrea Dietrich, of 2 or more quatrain stanzas with the following set rules:

Meter:  Trochaic
Syllabic: 7/5/7/5

Rhyme Scheme: a/b/c/b  or  a/b/a/b

The meter is trochee, which means alternating stressed and

unstressed beats in each line, with each line beginning and

ending in a stressed syllable. This is a simple lyrical type

little poem, so rhymes will be basic, nothing fancy.

The poem itself should give a description of something of interest to the poet.

There is not a set number of these quatrain type stanzas, 

but a typical 7/5 Trochee would consist of two quatrains,

with the second stanza serving to tie up the idea presented in the first stanza.

Nap

Sleeping eight hours every night 

Seems to some devine. 

Choosing such is quite their right. 

Just don't make it mine. 

I will sleep that much or more. 

Taking smaller blocks. 

For in afternoon I snore 

Even wearing socks.

Alliterisen

The Alliterisen (Complex and Rhyming), a form created by Udit Bhatia, is a simple seven-lined poem with a specific syllable pattern and two alliterations per line.  For example: Glorious Graves, and wonderful waves. Alliteration is the succession of similar consonant sounds. They are not recognized by spelling, but rather by sounds.

The syllable structure for the Complex Alliterisen is as follows:

1st line- x syllables

2nd line- x+2 syllables

3rd line- x-1 syllables

4th line- (x+2)-1 syllables

5th line- x-2 syllables

6th line- (x+2)-2 syllables

7th line- x syllables

which allows for infinite syllable sequences.

The Knight of the Shopping Queen (  Complex Alliterisen with monorhyme)

Momma mumbles and grandpa grumbles but off they go.

She's got stores selected and he's got gumption and lots of dough.

Solicitous salesmen appear, all with grand goods to show

needles, brass bobbins, templates and many fine fabrics to sew

Gramps grabs her next favored choice;  takes it in tow.

Store after store momma's  proven plaza pro

And Gramps just grins and waits until when momma says whoa.

ALLITERISEN - Rhyming

--Must have only 7 syllables in each line (isosyllabic)

--Must use aabbccd rhyme scheme.

--Must have only 7 lines in the stanza.

--Must have one alliteration per line.

--Must be only one stanza (although you could create one with two stanzas and call it a Double Rhyming Alliterisen-which means a three stanza one would be called a Triple Rhyming Alliterisen, and so on.)

Facing Off

My clock was clearly mocking

with its tick-ing and tock-ing.

"Get to work, write right away.

I track time through-out the day.

I'm not mocking you, fine friend,

just prodding your plodding pen."

His song's sure despite his face.

Alouette

The Alouette, created by Jan Turner,
consists of two or more stanzas of 6 lines each,
with the following set rules:
Meter: 5, 5, 7, 5, 5, 7
Rhyme Scheme: a, a, b, c, c, b

The form name is a French word meaning 'skylark' or larks that fly high,
the association to the lark's song being appropriate for the musical quality
of this form. The word 'alouette' can also mean a children's song
(usually sung in a group), and although this poetry form is not necessarily
for children's poetry (but can be applied that way), it is reminiscent of
that style of short lines.  Preference for the meter accent is on the
third syllable of each line.

Alphabet Haiku

Modern haiku form created by  Beatrice Evans, aka Ronnica at Allpoetry
It requires only strict 5 7 5 syllable construction
with all words beginning with the same letter.

There is no requirement for aha moment and punctuation and metaphor and photos are permitted.

The amphibrach is a trisyllabic metrical foot, which in accentual meter consists of an accented syllable between two unaccented syllables.

Bird Watching

Reclining relaxed in the garden

the cat was ignoring my  calling,

indifferently birds kept on chirping,

idyllic conditions for poets.

Amusing deception, cat lazy

and silent just waiting for breakfast.

Indolent or working at trapping

a birdie who thinks that he's sleeping?
