  • The Septanelle is a verse form in 7 lines. It was created by Lyra LuVaile.

    The Septanelle is:
    • a heptastich, a poem in seven lines.
    • syllabic, 4-6-10-4-6-10-4 syllables per line.
    • rhymed, rhyme scheme ababcca.

Not Enough     (Septanlle)

I had no dream
at twenty-one. My life
had been scripted by others, it would seem.
I took a wife
served country, then could see
that schooling offered opportunity -
my only theme.
