Whitney

WHITNEY
This titled syllabic form, created by Betty Ann Whitney, has exactly seven lines.
Syllable Pattern:  3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 4, 7
Example:
In the Garden Year
Voted best 
Among the months 
May and June 
Sprout root and grow. 
Soon will dance 
On wiry stems 
A blend of upturned blossoms.

Trampolines
and Bar-B-ques
and new mown
grass are mighty
fine, but still,
